During 2017, furniture imports totaled USD$192 million. In Colombia there are around 4,781 furniture manufacturing companies that are subscribed to the Chamber of Commerce, thanks to these companies, the furniture sector generates a 3.5% share in job creation in Colombia, with around 22,800 jobs. Despite this, this market has more than 8,900 informal companies throughout the country, which generate more than 100,000 direct jobs, five times more than the jobs generated by companies that are registered in the different chambers.
