As of June 2018, imports of the wood and board sector registered a growth of 6.4%. Wood is one of the most used products in the construction of houses and the manufacture of goods around the world. This product is considered the construction material of the 21st century due to its stability and reliability as an input. According to Fedemaderas, the demand for wood was located, for the year 2017, at 4 million cubic meters and only 2.7 million are produced in Colombia.
